It went almost unnoticed for some, but for most it was assumed to be in the 1.4x updates. Goes to show you just how much we read and how much we skip when new information comes out. The new radio that came with RC33 was left out of JesusFrekes update.zip because flashing the radio should not be done repeatedly and some people are reflashing updates rather often (for themes and other reasons).
Some are now saying that the next update from T-Mobile will cause your device to be bricked if you do not have this radio. While I cannot confirm this I can link to the radio so you can flash it. Here is the quote from JF about why it was left out and information about it.
JesusFreke released JF 1.43 for the ADP1 (1.1 firmware) and the US G1s have JF 1.42 out now.
Links for both can be found in the JesusFreke Releases Forum and details can be found here.
Some guys at XDA-Developers are working on an app that does what my old .sh script did. This app will keep track of the latest JF rom and auto download it for you to make updating almost as easy as OTA updates. While this app is still in very early beta, I think [RiS] will have it working very soon. Keep an eye on the thread at XDA-Developers.com for more details.
JesusFreke has put out a version of JF1.41 using the RC33 update that he just obtained today. Links can be found in on his forum (>JesusFreke Releases) under his JF 1.41 post. The wiki has been modified for this update.
RC33 was spotted by a few but no download links yet. Everyone is speculating and starting rumors about what they think is cupcake in the wild. While I am normally skeptical, the size of the thread on XDA-devs makes me believe this might be real. If this update is real and is really being deployed we need to get the url to the download to JesusFreke so he can work his magic for us. If you are able to get ahold of the update, Please find the url (generally found by checking adb logcat and searching for “.zip”) and >post it here so he can get started disecting.
