Can I use other ROMs?

  • maybe... with some modifications.
    • the problem is that most ROMs are made for HTC hardware and not DSTL1 - that does not mean it is not possible.
    • the DSTL1 comes with a modified ROM - specifically to allow for Dual SIM operation, as well as other hardware drivers

Can I use other Recovery?

  • maybe... with some modifications.
    • the problem is that most Recovery are made for HTC hardware and not DSTL1 - that does not mean it is not possible. (this is probably easier to retrofit than a ROM is)
    • the DSTL1 comes with a modified Recovery - specifically to account for the hardware on which it runs (i.e. mount points)
  • There has been minimal yet exciting success for Amon_RA's recovery ported to DSTL1... unfortunately it is still in BETA [5]

Can I use other BootLoader? SPL?

  • FLASHING BOOTLOADER / SPL COULD BRICK YOUR DEVICE
    • This does not mean it is not possible - but it is very difficult.
    • Do not attempt to do this unless you know what you are doing

Where is Fastboot?

The much acclaimed fastboot is not available for the DSTL1. DSTL1 comes from Marvell PXA chip family, unlike HTC devices (Qualcomm MSM family). DSTL1 does not have a fastboot implement from birth. So it means it is not easy to support it.
